Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.—
This article documents one man and four women who were killed for trying to prevent polio in Pakistan by promoting the polio vaccine. As someone whose mother was stricken by polio in the prime of her life I consider this senseless act worthy of scorn and promotion to the Hall of Shame. What could possibly cause someone to kill someone else for trying to prevent polio?
